The earliest rhytons date as far back as the end of the third millennium b.c.. They were used from the Assyrians and later from Persians. They appeared in the Greece culture at the end of 6-th - 5-th century b. c. influenced by the Persians, but with more highlighted ornaments and realism. In addition the finest found rhytons are from this period.
